Cantabria is one of the autonomous communities that is located on Spanish territory and an important historical region in this country. The famous city of Santander is the capital of the region and an important marina where large vessels and yachts moor each year. Being situated on the northern coast of Spain, it is bordered by the Basque Autonomous Community, Castille and Leon, the Principality of Asturias and the Cantabrian Sea. This part of the country is known as the Green Spain, due to the luxuriant vegetation.
From a historical point of view, it is one of the richest territories in Spain from an archaeological point of view.
