 The staff hate boaters. Simi island. I have a sailing boat not easy to maneuver and with a short anchor chain. When we arrived in Simi Harbour there were 15 knots side wind and, as in too many ports in the Mediterranean, the boats carrying  tourists aim at boaters like the Roman triremes with the rostrum against their archenemy. Also probably my skills do not get better as I get older. At the first maneuver we were too close to the coast guard boat and an agent screamed at us to leave immediately. I stopped 2nd maneuver  because a turist boat cross our route  at 8 knots one  meter from the stern. We stop 3rd maneuver because we drop late the anchor. All this has greatly irritated the gentleman who takes care of the moorings, who whistled and screamed. I therefore proposed him to do the maneuver rather than doing it myself. It was a very bad idea, the kindest word I heard was that I was a asshole. So we anchored half a mile from the port and enjoyed a lot of Simi, which is one of the most beautiful islands in the world.
