Sunbay Marina

Sunbay Marina is located in Fajardo Bay, on the north east coast of Puerto Rico. Situated west of the Fajardo Ferry Terminal, the marina is just steps away from beaches, restaurants and shops. The nearby Laguna Aguas Prietas or Laguna Grande is a natural wonder, a bioluminescent bay that you can explore by kayak. These waters contain millions of micro-organisms, called “dinoflagellates”, that glow in the dark for a second when agitated. There are three bioluminescent bays (bio-bays) in Puerto Rico. One in the south-west –La Parguera, one on Vieques –Mosquito Bay, and the one in Fajardo. Hiking around Laguna Grande will lead you to the secluded beaches Playa Escondida and Playa Colora. Just 45 minutes away is the island’s capital, San Juan, where you can explore the Old Town with its historic forts and buildings. The entrance to San Juan Bay is guarded by the San Felipe del Morro Fortress one side and fort San Juan de la Cruz, known locally as El Cañuelo, on the other side.
