Thrive in the silky warm, inviting waters of the Aegean Sea, washing upon one of the 13th splendid regions of Greece, East Macedonia and Thrace. Samothrace (also known as Samothraki) is a standout amongst the most rough Greek islands, being known for its prosperity among the fishing and tourism industries. Samothrace has a wonderful scene with Mt Fengari (with its tip Fengari rising to 1,611 m.) as the core bit of the island. The island additionally has exquisite yellow fields and incredible waterfalls. The island's most renowned site is the Sanctuary of the Great Gods, Greek Hieron ton Megalon Theon with its the most famous artifact - the 2.5-metre marble statue of Nike, now known as the Winged Victory of Samothrace, dating from about 190 BC. It was discovered in pieces on the island in 1863 by the French archaeologist Charles Champoiseau, and is currently headless in the Louvre in Paris.
